Air Temple Island Where: Within Republic City Notable people: Tenzin, Pema, Jinora, Ikki, Meelo; current residence of Korra Description: Located in Yue Bay. Built by Avatar Aang, this island is the home of all current Airbenders and the Air Acolytes. There are several buildings on this island, including residence and dining halls, meditation pavilions, training grounds, and a large pagoda-like structure. The blue and yellow colors are reminiscent of the same architectural features seen at the Southern Air Temple. Air Temple Island is also the home of the ring-tailed winged-lemurs and a herd of air bison. Airbending Training Grounds Where: Within Republic City Notable people: N/A Description: Located in Air Temple Island. Housing a 2,000 year old relic, the training grounds comprise a large section of Air Temple Island. The ancient relic is the training instrument of the circle walk that is so central to the airbending style. Here, students use their airbending to spin the gates while others must weave their way through. The purpose is so that one becomes like a leaf in the wind, floating through and being able to change at a moment's notice. Avatar Aang Memorial Statue Where: Within Republic City Notable people: N/A Description: Located in Yue Bay, just outside Republic City. Built to honor the Avatar who ended the Hundred Years War and helped in establishing Republic City. There's an Avatar Museum at the base of the statue. Avatar Training Grounds Where: Within the Avatar World Notable people: White Lotus, Katara Description: Located in the Southern Water Tribe. Built with the intention of keeping the Avatar safe while she was training, the Training Grounds are a large facility and contain all the essentials for learning all four elements. Due to its location near the South Pole, the architecture is unique in that it is built aside a mountain and made of snow and ice. Cabbage Corp Where: Within Republic City Notable people: Lau Gan-Lan Description: A stately, grand building located in the bustling heart of Republic City, Cabbage Corp's tremendous height, golden roofs, and decorative Cabbage Man statue are impressive, and represent how successful the company has been in creating and selling popular technology. Since the arrest of the head of the company, Lau Gan-Lan, the status of the corporation is unknown. Central City Station Where: Within Republic City Notable people: Skoochy; occasional Triple Threat Triads Description: This grand structure is pivotal to the transport of city dwellers and goods to various points throughout Republic City. Complete with an arched roof, regal towers, arched doorways, and expansive steps, Republic City's Central City Station is a sight to behold. The entrance is marked by a commemorative statue of Fire Lord Zuko, hand lit by actual fire to symbolize the impact he had in the construction of Republic City. City Hall Where: Within Republic City Notable people: City Council members Description: One of the original buildings of Republic City, City Hall is the center of the current government. It is also the gathering space for announcements to the city, as Avatar Korra made hers here affirming her stay in Republic City and her official declaration as the new Avatar. Downtown Republic City Where: Within Republic City Notable people: Merchants and shopkeepers; Metalbending Police Description: This bustling center of the city is reminiscent of all the different elemental bending traditions in both its architecture and its population. In Downtown Republic City, tall, well-crafted buildings line the cobblestoned streets, and a railroad track sits above the general populace, offering transportation to those wishing to explore the city in its entirety. Downtown Republic City is representative of a cultural melting pot, and its busyness can seem daunting to any newcomers. Dragon Flats District Bookstore Where: Within Republic City Notable people: Equalists, chi-blockers Description: While a bookstore by day, this place doubles as a secret training location for the Equalists. Here, Equalists train non-benders in the art of chi blocking and how best to protect themselves from bender attacks. This is also the location of the raid led by Councilman Tarrlok in his first strike of decisive action against Amon. Future Industries Where: Within Republic City Notable people: Hiroshi Sato, Asami Sato Description: This large factory is where the Satomobiles are built; over 100 on a daily basis! It is owned and operated by Hiroshi Sato. Their only competitor is the Cabbage Car, produced by Cabbage Corp. Hiroshi Sato also gives daily tours of his factory. Future Industries Airport Where: Within the Avatar World Notable people: nobody important lives here Description: nobody has described this place Korra's Home Where: Within the Avatar World Notable people: Korra, Senna, Tonraq Description: Located in the Southern Water Tribe. A humble and cozy home nestled in the middle of the South Pole. Though small and homely, it contains all the antiquities of a classic Water Tribe dwelling, including blue and white stone tiling, fur rugs, and Water Tribe wall décor. Kuang's Cuisine Where: Within Republic City Notable people: Butler Description: A regal fine dining establishment located in one of the more upscale areas of Republic City. Bright lights blaze forth from the windows as passerby gawk at the grandness of its crimson exterior walls. Those who enter the restaurant are immediately met by a courteous butler, whose sole purpose is to aid in making the eating experience as enjoyable and luxurious as possible. Golden adornments and fine furniture decorate a room used for dinner guest preparation, while the main portion of the restaurant provides a more secluded atmosphere. Silk tablecloths topped with vases of roses help to set the mood. Guests sit at heart shaped booths or intimate tables, and are presented with only the finest cuisine delivered on silver platters. For all its luxury, Kuang's Cuisine has a bit of a dark past. The restaurant was frequented by Yakone, and it was here where he was famously arrested by Police Chief Toph Beifong and Avatar Aang. Mako and Bolin's Apartment Where: Within Republic City Notable people: Mako, Bolin Description: Located at the top of the Pro-bending Arena. This quaint attic space has been remodeled just enough to act as a home for the Fire Ferret brothers. The large windows open up to a spectacular view of the bay and Republic City, and a couch has been situated in the corner to take full advantage of the scenic surroundings. The brothers' dedication to pro-bending is evident even at home, as the floor is littered with weights and training gear. Though not the most adorned, the apartment serves as a retreat and safe haven from the streets of the city. Meditation Pavilion Where: Within Republic City Notable people: N/A Description: Located in Air Temple Island. A small wooden gazebo built for the study and practice of meditation. As meditation is a vital component of Air Nomadic lifestyle, this pavilion is of great importance. Narook's Seaweed Noodlery Where: Within Republic City Notable people: Narook; Mako and Bolin seem to be regulars; posters of Tahno hang upon the walls Description: A specialty restaurant that caters to the cuisine of the Southern Water Tribe, Narook's Seaweed Noodlery also seems to be one of the best places to grab a bowl of noodles in the city. Water Tribe memorabilia hangs upon the walls, casting a homey atmosphere upon the restaurant. Cozy booths line the walls, enough for 2 or larger parties. Northern Water Tribe Where: Within the Avatar World Notable people: nobody important lives here Description: nobody has described this place Northern Water Tribe Spirit Forest Where: Within the Avatar World Notable people: nobody important lives here Description: nobody has described this place Police Headquarters Where: Within Republic City Notable people: Chief Lin Beifong Description: The headquarters of the metalbending police for Republic City. This acts not only as the police offices, but also for detentions. Inside, these detention cells are built entirely of metal, making escape near impossible, save for other metal benders. Chief Lin Beifong is the current head of police. A metal statue of Toph, the first metalbender, stands outside. Pro-Bending Arena Where:

Pro-bending Training Gym Where: Within Republic City Notable people: Toza; Pro-benders training for the competition. Description: Located inside the Pro-bending Arena. As begot by its name, this section of the Republic City pro-bending arena is well-equipped for all pro-bending competitors to practice the sport. The well-lit area has two stories, one for practice and the other for observation. The practice area contains weights, punching bags, and plenty of open space. The location is practical and suitable for both bending and non-bending exercises. Republic City Where:

Amon, Chief Lin Beifong
Located in the Western Coast of traditional Earth Kingdom lands. The main result of the Harmony Restoration Movement, Republic City is a place for all benders and non-benders to live in harmony, regardless of Nation, Kingdom, or Tribe. It has grown in the past 70 years to become one of the largest cities in the world. Technology is on the forefront here and much of the city is focused on this industry. Republic City Park Where: Within Republic City Notable people: Gommu (the hobo who lives in a sparkly bush) Description: Beautiful and scenic with its peaceful trees, elegant bridges, gentle ponds, and reputable shrubbery, the City Park is the perfect place for the folks of Republic City to retreat from their daily troubles. Patrolled by dedicated staff, the Park is often a quiet and undisturbed local treasure. Sato Mansion Where: Within Republic City Notable people: Hiroshi Sato, Asami Sato, Butler Description: Located on the outskirts of Republic City, this large multi-building complex is the home of the Sato family. It includes a racing test track, home office, backyard workshop, indoor swimming pool, and other luxury amenities. The home is maintained by a staff of workers, most notably the Butler. After the events of the revealing of Hiroshi Sato's alliances, the current status of the complex is unknown. Secret Workshop Where: Within Republic City Notable people: Hiroshi Sato, Lieutenant Description: Hidden beneath the Sato Mansion and kept secret from the other Sato Family members and staff, the Secret Workshop is one of the main hideouts for the Equalist movement, as well as being the main location for the research and development of the Equalist technology. It is here that many of the tools and weapons used by the Equalists were developed. The workshop is expansive and covers a large amount of underground space. After the events revealing of Hiroshi Sato's alliances, the current status of the workshop is unknown. South Pole Spirit Portal Where: Within the Avatar World Notable people: nobody important lives here Description: nobody has described this place Southern Air Temple Where: Within the Avatar World Notable people: nobody important lives here Description: nobody has described this place Southern Air Temple's Avatar Statues Room Where: Within the Avatar World Notable people: nobody important lives here Description: nobody has described this place Southern Water Tribe Where: Within the Avatar World Notable people: Avatar Korra, Katara, Sokka Description: Located at the South Pole. The birthplace of the current Avatar, Korra, this is the southern most populated place in the world. Though in the Hundred Years War, it was reduced to a few tiny homes built of tents, snow, and ice, the Southern Water Tribe is now a prosperous village once again. Southern Water Tribe Festival Grounds Where: Within the Avatar World Notable people: nobody important lives here Description: nobody has described this place Southern Water Tribe Palace Where: Within the Avatar World Notable people: nobody important lives here Description: nobody has described this place Triple Threat Triad Headquarters Where: Within Republic City Notable people: Lightening Bolt Zolt, Shady Shin, various bending gangsters Description: A dark and sinister looking building, it is often well-guarded, so as to keep any business conducted secret. Awnings frame the upper outside portions of the windows, and a wooden, pagoda-like entrance belies a connection to traditional architecture. Though empty when discovered by Korra and Mako, the overturned tables and dusty atmosphere suggest that the gangsters' dealings were anything but innocent. Varrick's Yacht Where: Within the Avatar World Notable people: nobody important lives here Description: nobody has described this place Warehouse Where: Within Republic City Notable people: Amon (his first public appearance was here); Lieutenant; Equalists Description: The abandoned Warehouse housing the infamous Revelation is sizeable enough to accommodate large crowds of non-benders, but confined enough to avoid attraction from anyone not invited to the event. Located in a more industrial sector of Republic City, crowds enter the building through a single door, permitted by invitation only. The interior of the building has multiple levels and a makeshift stage, providing Amon a focal point to make his demonstration. The metal pipes and factory equipment lining the walls add a sense of reality to Amon's claims that non-benders are being repressed by benders, and are thus confined to making their pleas for equality in a relatively neglected location. This place serves as Amon's center of operations, where they load materials into unmarked trucks for use in their terrorist activities. Back to overview
